Iowa Restaurant Association Names Culver's Team Member 2006 Iowa Restaurant Employee Of The Year

ANKENY , WI (Tuesday, November 07, 2006) - The Iowa Restaurant Association named Kelly Morris
of Culver's of Ankeny as the 2006 Employee of the Year. Morris was honored at the association's
annual Awarding Excellence ceremony.
"This award honors the person who best exemplifies both outstanding performance and customer
service," said Doni DeNucci, president and CEO for the Iowa Restaurant Association. "From the
moment you meet Kelly you realize that the words ‘customer service' are synonymous with her
attitude and demeanor. According to her co-workers and customers, she is someone who truly
cares more about the needs of her guests than she does about herself."
Morris has been with Culver's Ankeny since it opened five years ago and is a customer favorite.
Each weekday morning she can be found in Culver's dining room, pouring coffee, clearing tables
and taking care of customers' needs. In fact, restaurant owner Jeff Vaassen claims that Kelly
knows the names and faces of more guests than the entire management and staff put together.
"Not a day goes by when someone doesn't comment on her friendliness, service, and hugs," said
Vaassen.
Event Features National Chairman
This year's Awarding Excellence was held at the West Des Moines Marriott and included a
banquet, reception, culinary competition and tasting salons. The event was emceed by WHO
Radio personality Mark Pearson and featured a keynote address by Ed Tinsley, current chairman
of the National Restaurant Association's Board of Directors and president and CEO of Tinsley
Hospitality Group, LLC, a restaurant intellectual property company and master franchisor of KBOB'S
Steakhouses.
