Brampton Boston Pizza Wins Two Awards For Quality And Service Excellence

BRAMPTON, ON (Tuesday, May 24, 2005) - Boston Pizza International Inc. presented Anil Kapur and Steve Clayton, franchisees of the Brampton, Ontario location, with the Top Quality Assurance Award and the Top S.T.A.R.S. Award for 2004. The awards were presented at Boston Pizza's Franchisee Awards Gala held recently in Cancun, Mexico.

The Top Quality Assurance Award is presented to the franchisee who has achieved the highest score in all categories of quality assurance testing throughout the past year.

Every Boston Pizza restaurant across Canada undergoes thorough quality assurance assessments at least twice a year. Individual restaurants are assessed on food safety handling procedures, cleanliness, food quality and adherence to Boston Pizza's standards and systems. The purpose of the assessment is to ensure Boston Pizza maintains the highest standard for quality in the Canadian casual dining industry.

The Top S.T.A.R.S. Award is presented to the franchisee with the highest combined average score of two S.T.A.R.S. judging rounds over the past year. The S.T.A.R.S. program (Standards + Training + Action = Results in Sales) is designed to recognize and reward the staff of individual Boston Pizza restaurants that consistently demonstrate superiority in ‘front of the house' and ‘back of the house' guest service, implementation of operational standards, maximizing sales, and menu execution.
