Boston Pizza Continues To Grow In Nova Scotia With Opening Of Sackville Location

(Friday, September 16, 2005) - Boston Pizza International Inc. announces the grand opening of its newest restaurant and sports bar in Sackville, Nova Scotia on Tuesday, September 20th, 2005. The new restaurant builds on Boston Pizza's growing presence in Nova Scotia, and is the fourth location to open in the province.

The new restaurant, located at 710 Sackville Drive, is owned and operated by local residents, Gina and PJ Byrne. Gina Byrne moved to Nova Scotia two years ago from Alberta, the home of the first Boston Pizza restaurant. As a teenager, she worked at Boston Pizza as a server in Calgary.

"When my family and I moved to Nova Scotia, walking in to a Boston Pizza restaurant made us feel at home," says Byrne. "We wanted to bring what we know and love to the residents of Sackville – Boston Pizza's great atmosphere and dining experience."

Boston Pizza is a full-service casual dining restaurant and sports bar featuring more than 100 menu items including 23 different varieties of gourmet pizzas, plus pasta, appetizers, ribs, meal-size salads, sandwiches and desserts.

The restaurant opening will create 100 new jobs. In keeping with their commitment to the local community, the staff of Boston Pizza Sackville will donate all proceeds from tips generated through six practice serving nights to the Hammond's Plains Fire Department. A cheque presentation will be made at the grand opening party on Saturday, September 17th.

Boston Pizza Sackville will be an active member of the community throughout the year and will sponsor the Hammond's Plains Fire Department, local sports teams, schools and charities. They will also support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Kids Help Phone, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised more than $3.75 million for various Canadian charities since 1990.

The chain presently has locations in Halifax, Dartmouth and Sydney, and plans to continue its expansion across Nova Scotia.
