(Wednesday, March 08, 2006) - Last month, the staff at Truestar Headquarters wore their hearts on their sleeves and celebrated
Heart Health Month with a series of office events aimed at raising money for the Heart and Stroke
Foundation.
The month-long campaign kicked off with heart health awareness daily alerts on
Truestarhealth.com. Truestar experts explored issues of heart health in all key areas of health.
Dr. Natasha Turner, Truestar's Vice President of Natural Medicine, explored topics such as top
supplements for keeping the heart healthy and tracking risk factors for risk of heart disease.
The health alerts spawned fluttering hearts everywhere. The ad campaigns featured powerful key
messages such as "Love Yourself First" and "Love Letters"— a competition for new members of
Truestar for Women Nutrition & Fitness Centers to submit a love letter written to themselves.
Back at Headquarters, things got casual when Truestar staff paid to wear jeans to work everyday,
appropriate attire for the brisk half-hour walks led by exercise experts in the afternoons. The
doctors from The Truestar Health & Wellness Clinic kept everything in check by setting up blood
pressure test areas.
After hours, the staff enjoyed a swanky Valentine Martini Event which proved how libations and
cuisine (everything in moderation) can be served up healthy and still be sexy! And, just when the
hearts of staff might have had enough, compilation CDs with staff picks for favourite "true love"
and "love hurts" songs were sold to pick up the final pieces of Truestar's love story – several
hundreds of dollars raised for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
