Accor North America Kicks Off Campaign For Toys For Tots Program

(Thursday, November 02, 2006) - Accor North America, one of the largest hotel chain owners and operators in North America, today kicked off its annual campaign to collect toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots Foundation." As part of its campaign, Accor generously committed to be a corporate sponsor with a $25,000 sponsorship. Accor will be collecting toys at its corporate headquarters and at participating Accor properties including Sofitel, Novotel, Red Roof Inn, Studio 6 and Motel 6. "Accor North America is proud to be part of the Toys for Tots Program again this year," said Georges Le Mener, president and chief executive officer of Accor North America. "As part of Accor's sustainable development commitment to supporting needy children, we hope the toy drive along with our $25,000 donation will go along way in bringing holiday smiles and a lifetime of memories to children."

The goal of the campaign is to collect new, unwrapped toys between November 1 and December 15, and distribute those toys as holiday gifts to needy children in the local community. According to the Toys for Tots Foundation, children make up 29 percent of the population in the United States. Because 17 percent of today's children are living in poverty, they are characterized by low self-esteem and have little hope for the future. By delivering a shiny new toy, not only is self-esteem being restored, but it sends a message of hope to each child.

"This is an opportunity to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable natural resources - our children, to unite members of local communities in a common cause, and to contribute to making better communities in the future," said Kelley Johnson, director of Diversity and Internal Communications, Accor North America.

In addition to participating in this year's Toys for Tots Program, Accor will host Captain Kenneth Stephens as its November "Diversity Hot Topic" speaker on November 17 from 11 a.m. to noon at Accor's corporate headquarters. Captain Stevens will discuss how the U.S. Marines Corps founded the Toys for Tots Program, and provide an overview of the Programs mission. Accor's monthly "Diversity Hot Topic" series provides an opportunity to educate employees on different diversity-related topics each month.

Accor will be collecting toys at its corporate headquarters located at 4001 International Parkway in Carrollton, Texas. For a listing of toy collection points near you, visit www.accor-na.com.
