Embassy Suites Hotels Heats Up
(Tuesday, July 25, 2006) -
Embassy Suites Hotels® is in the third quarter 2006 with an egg-citing array of initiatives and a strong development pipeline. With nearly 190 properties throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America, and the introduction of the new prototype, Design Option III, Embassy Suites Hotels is well on its way to developing 300 hotels by 2010. Below is a sampling of what's cooking at Embassy Suites Hotels:
Breakfast Enhancement In keeping with what it does best, Embassy Suites is enhancing its signature complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast with more food options, and a more user-friendly layout in the breakfast room. All hotels now will offer ten (10) ingredients (previously four (4) ingredients) for the cooked-to-order omelet, a guest favorite. The breakfast enhancements highlight the brand's commitment to its customers, and to its four defining core pillars of cooked-to-order breakfast, complimentary manger's reception, two-room suites, and an atrium, attributes that truly make Embassy Suites a category-of-one brand.
Team Members Choose New Designer Uniform on NBC's "The Apprentice" Putting its 30,000 team members at the forefront of choosing new designer uniforms, while integrating the Embassy Suites brand on "The Apprentice" reaching 16 million viewers demonstrates the Embassy's strategic brand marketing message, coupled with an aggressive objective of 100% guest satisfaction through employee satisfaction. The Embassy Suites brand is the first hospitality company to involve employees to this degree, while employing a top NYC fashion designer, Edward Wilkerson of Lafayette 148, to make the new uniforms both functional and fashionable.
The EmbassyDirect Check-in Kiosks™ Embassy Suites Hotels is the first hotel brand to feature the self-service kiosks across the entire portfolio of hotels. Slated to appear in all properties by December 2006, the automated technology allows guests to check-in (ability to select the room, disbursement of room keys and printing of registration information), check-out (printing of folio and modifications to method of payment), personalize messages to guests, and disperse coupons for hotel services in selected locations. The kiosks give guests more choices and convenience when it comes to their hotel stay. Upon completion, Embassy Suites Hotels will be the first hotel chain to boast registration kiosks in all of its locations.
eCheck-in Currently available to HHonors Diamond and Gold guests, eCheck-in allows customers more flexibility and control over their travel experience. Guests have the option of choosing the exact guest room, which also helps reduce check-in time. eCheck-in leverages the same technology as the check-in kiosks to deliver a quick and convenient experience, providing the choice of bed allotment, and room type.
Design Option III Launched at the ALIS conference in January 2006, the new Design Option III prototype garnered amazing interest from developers, and the brand received 17 applications during the first quarter. DO III gives ESH developers more market choice because of its scalable key count, flexible layout and lower building cost. DO III also provides guests with an exciting new layout, while maintaining all of the brand's core pillars and standard offerings.
Original Artwork Every Embassy Suites Hotel strives to blend into the city and give guests a taste of the local culture. ESH is highlighting original artwork by local artists in its signature New York City, Atlanta and Tampa properties, offering guests an atheistically pleasing experience, whether in their rooms, lounging in the lobby or just on the go, to and from. The artwork creates boutique-hotel feeling for guests who also benefit from all of the amenities and services provided by a full-service hotel chain.
Build-A-Bear-Workshop Children staying at more than 130 Embassy Suites Hotels in the U.S. with their Build-A-Bear Workshop bear can treat their "friend" to the Build-A-Bear Workshop Sleep Over pack. The package includes a bear-sized Embassy Suites Hotels sleeping bag, dental kit with plush toothbrush, floss and honey flavored toothpaste, Embassy Suites Hotels Tiny Tees® shirt and a $5 Bear Buck$® gift card to use at Build-A-Bear Workshop, all in a cool drawstring carrying bag. Embassy Suites Hotels is also looking to reunite children with the furry friends left behind in any ESH property with the Build-A-Bear Workshop Find-A-Bear® ID Program. By scanning the barcode in the bear's heart, the Build-A-Bear Workshop will work to bring the bear back to its owner.
Kids Eye View® Passport Program Embassy is expanding its original Kids Eye View® (KEV) Program, designed for kids, by kids, with five new cities and Customized Kid Passports. KEV gives the inside scoop on where the best educational activities, shopping, family outings and ice cream shops can be found. This year the program has been expanded to 26 U.S. cities. For each Embassy Suites visited, a child will receive a unique sticker to place in their KEV Passport.
