Minuteman Press Franchise Of North Conway, New Hampshire Honors Leo Michaud

(Thursday, June 29, 2006) - Leo Michaud, a native of Berlin, NH and current resident of Conway, was recently honored by Minuteman Press of North Conway for 25 years of service. Michaud was the first employee hired when Minuteman Press first opened its doors in the Mount Washington Valley 25 years ago, and has been the primary press operator for all of those years. "Leo has been the constant face of Minuteman Press since the beginning. He has seen three owners come and go over the years before me, but he has been the common denominator at Minuteman", said Pat Kittle, the current owner of Minuteman Press. Michaud said that he has seen a lot of changes over the years. "When I first started, I did everything, from answering the phones and waiting on customers to printing to all of the bindery work. The business has grown so much over the years that now I just work on the presses, which suits me fine" stated Michaud. "Technology has changed as well" said Kittle. "When Leo started in this industry, type was set by hand and printing plates were produced through a number of complicated, manual steps. Today, everything is done digitally, in a small fraction of the time it used to take. To his credit, Leo is even getting used to working with computers"

Michaud was presented with an engraved plaque thanking him for his years of dedicated service, along with some new woodworking tools, as a token of Minuteman's appreciation. "Lots of people over the years have come to know Leo's ability as a master printer, but not as many know that Leo applies that same craftsmanship to his favorite hobby of woodworking" stated Kittle. "He designed and built the custom counter cabinets when we remodeled our lobby area two years ago, and did a fantastic job, as can be seen in the accompanying photo."
