Cke Restaurants, Inc. Chief Technology Officer Tom Lindblom Receives 2006 'Ones To Watch' Award

CIO Magazine, CIO Executive Council Honor Rising Stars of IT

(Wednesday, May 10, 2006) - CKE Restaurants,
Inc. (NYSE: CKR) announced today that Tom Lindblom, the Company's vice
president and chief technology officer, has been named a 2006 "One to Watch"
by IDG's CIO Magazine and the CIO Executive Council. This prestigious honor
is bestowed upon 20 rising stars in information technology who bring
leadership, innovation and value to their organization, and are primed to
become future chief technology officers. Lindblom accepted his award during a
ceremony held last night in Cambridge, Mass.

"Tom is an outstanding asset to CKE Restaurants, Inc. and carries nearly
30 years of experience," said CKE chief information officer Jeffrey P.
Chasney. "I feel honored to have such a talented colleague on the bridge with
me and I am thrilled at his recognition. It is well deserved."

All "Ones to Watch" honorees must be nominated or endorsed by a CIO.
Nominations were submitted in the fall of 2005 and reviewed by a judging panel
of 15 leading CIOs. "While the 'Ones to Watch' awards are bestowed on
individuals, the honor also belongs to the nominating CIOs and their
organizations for their focus on leadership development and attention to
cultivating the next generation of IT leaders," says Abbie Lundberg, CIO
editor in chief.

Upon accepting the award, Lindblom said, "I am honored at the recognition
given by CIO Magazine and the CIO Executive Council and thank them sincerely.

much in my field."

As of the fiscal year ended Jan. 30, 2006, CKE Restaurants, Inc., through
