Red Roof Inn has completed a $2.5 million renovation of its downtown Washington D.C. property, providing travelers with all the amenities they want for an affordable price in a great location…just one mile from the White House. Red Roof Inn, a division of Accor North America, implemented a nationwide renovation plan as part of its ongoing goal to redefine economy lodging. The project touted as "Red's New Rooms" incorporates an upscale, designer look with smart amenities.
"Red Roof Inn has re-imagined the ordinary in every detail of the room," says Joe Wheeling, chief operating officer for Red Roof Inn. "When we set out to redesign the room, our goal was to provide quiet, crisp, elegant sophistication with residential touches to make the guest feel comfortable—all at an affordable price."
In 2004, Red Roof Inn began implementing a $200 million multi-year national renovation of all properties that calls for enhanced landscaping, exterior lighting and a complete redesign of the rooms and main lobby areas.
The new, modern lobby also includes a cable news-tuned flat panel television, comfortable seating and a gourmet coffee service area that contains an assortment of freshly-ground Arabica coffee. This Washington D.C. property also offers on-site parking, an exercise facility with a dry sauna and an Irish pub restaurant.
Red Roof Inn properties are placed in central locations allowing guest to venture out into the city. In creating the best guest experience for the best price, Red Roof Inn has spent more than $100 million to date on renovating more than 12,000 rooms in major markets, including Washington D.C., Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia and Detroit.
