Deadline Extended To June 9 For Tss Photography ‘franchise Giveaway' Contest

Leading U.S. Photography Franchise to Award $20,000 Territory to Military Veteran in July

(Friday, June 02, 2006) - The deadline for one of the most unusual contests ever held in the franchise industry has been extended for another week. On June 9th, TSS Photography will start the judging process for their essay competition held exclusively for military veterans in which the prize is an actual franchise business.

TSS Photography, the nation's first youth photography franchise (formerly known as The Sports Section), announced earlier this year that, in an effort to "recruit" qualified military veterans into its growing franchise system, it would go as far as to give away a franchise territory through an essay contest. The winner will receive a $20,000 TSS franchise territory, $5,000 in photography equipment and public relations support for their new youth photography business. As part of the selection criteria, candidates are required to submit an essay focusing on what their service to America has meant to them, why they would be an excellent franchise owner and why TSS Photography would be their franchise of choice.

"Our deadline is June 9, so time is of the essence," said TSS Photography President Joe Lindenmayer, a former U.S. Marine Corporal. "We are still looking for a few good essays. We've received some strong entries so far, but there's always room for more. Having too many to chose from would be a good problem to have."

As an armed forces veteran, Lindenmayer said he's familiar with the training and mentality provided in the armed forces and how it lends itself directly toward being a successful business owner. In fact, many other TSS Photography franchisees have formerly served in all branches of the Armed Forces dating back to the 1950's.

"These men and women have made tremendous sacrifices in the name of our country," said Lindenmayer. "Providing them with an opportunity to get their foot in the door to our franchise so they can operate their own business is just one small gesture to give back to them," Lindenmayer said.

To ensure that the most deserving a perfect fit will be chosen, TSS Photography's selection committee consists of former active duty veterans of the Armed Forces. They are: Harry Baird from Georgia, Eddie Demary from Texas, Debi and Rick Lajti from New York and Carlos Muro from California.
