Moto Franchise Corporation Selected As Rookie Business Of The Year For 2003
(Wednesday, January 14, 2004) -
The Dayton Business Journal announced that MOTO Franchise Corporation, the franchisor of MotoPhoto® digital mini labs and portrait studios, was selected as the Dayton Business Journal's Rookie Business of the Year for 2003.
This prestigious honor is awarded annually to a local Dayton-based company. Lisa Marawshi, Editor of the Dayton Business Journal stated, "A panel of independent judges evaluates companies on several things, including:
The company's projections for growth and successes and whether there is financial or other documentation to support those projections Whether the nominee is innovative, strategic and visionary Whether the nominee's product or service has a clear place in the market Whether the nominee outshines others in the category"
Harry Loyle, President and CEO of MOTO Franchise Corporation, stated, "Our ability to turn a profit in our first year of operation after purchasing the assets of the bankrupt Moto Photo, Inc. undoubtedly played a major role in the judges' decision. In addition we trimmed more than $1 million off the annual expense, without laying off any workers. To boost franchisee sales we've introduced new retail products such as MotoePicssm, MotoDVDsm and a national MotoPhoto gift program, and upgraded our portrait studios to offer instant digital previewing and finished portraits in one hour. All of these initiatives--as well as improving communications with our customers, the MotoPhoto franchisees-- have helped to make 2003 a successful year."
Loyle added, "I am both happy and proud for all MotoPhoto franchisees and associates to receive the Rookie Business of the Year Award. The hard work really paid off. Now we have to focus on the opportunities that will take our company to the next level."
