Eight Jackpot Lottery Winners Asked To Take Long John Silver's® Spokesperson Role At Nebraska Press Conference

(Wednesday, February 22, 2006) - The eight newest millionaires in the U.S. have more to think about than how to spend their money. They have to consider an offer to serve as Long John Silver's official spokespersons for the company's new Buttered Lobster Bites.

When the eight record-setting lottery winners were introduced at a press conference in Lincoln, Neb., earlier today, the Long John Silver's lobster mascot was there to extend the company's unprecedented job offer in person.

Earlier this week, Long John Silver's extended a commercial endorsement offer to the lottery winners, even before they were identified. Today, Long John Silver's President Steve Davis sent the Lobster Bites mascot to Lincoln to make the offer official. The mascot carried with him letters from Davis that were addressed to the winners.

"I'd like to offer my congratulations to you on this life-changing day," Davis wrote to the new multi-millionaires. "After all, it's not every day that a person gets the opportunity to serve as spokesperson for a product like Long John Silver's Buttered Lobster Bites."

Davis outlined the opportunities available to the winners, including possibly being featured in television and point-of-sale advertising, on the company's web site and in public relations materials for print, radio and television. The winners could even have the chance to wear the Lobster mascot costume and visit Long John Silver's restaurants. A V.I.P. meeting with Davis and other Long John Silver's executives would also be part of the deal.

"We think you're a perfect fit for Lobster Bites because this is a product that lets America enjoy a taste of the good life," Davis wrote. "We hope you'll accept our offer. We'd like to add a little fame to your fortune, and this will be a fun way to do it."

It wasn't just Davis and the Lobster mascot urging the lottery winners to accept the positions though. Long John Silver's restaurants in Lincoln posted messages on their reader boards that said, "Lottery Winners: Say Yes to Lobster Bites!"

Buttered Lobster Bites are bite-sized pieces of langostino lobster prepared in a buttery breading. The product is available for a limited time at participating Long John Silver's restaurants beginning Monday, Feb. 27.
