Locos Takes A Swing For Safety

LOCOS DELI & PUB HOSTS NINTH ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT SAFE CAMPUSES NOW

(Tuesday, April 19, 2005) - Locos Deli & Pub, headquartered in Athens, Ga., will host its ninth annual charity golf tournament on Mon., May 2, 2005. The event will be held at the Lane Creek Golf Club in Bishop, Ga., with tee time starting at 1:30 p.m. This year, proceeds will benefit Safe Campuses Now, an Athens-based non-profit organization that educates high school and college age students about crime awareness and prevention.

"Safe Campuses Now is thrilled to be selected as this year's charity recipient," said Kathryn Keith Sims, executive director of Safe Campuses Now. "We are lucky to partner with Locos Deli & Pub on this event that unifies the Athens area for a good cause and is an investment back into the community."

Locos Deli & Pub's annual charity golf tournament's goal is to highlight the achievements and raise funds for a local Athens-based organization. The company hopes the amount it donates to Safe Campuses Now will assist in paying for summer sessions of a free women's self defense course and a new poster campaign that will launch next fall.

"The Athens community and employee participation makes it possible for us to give more each year," said Jamey Loftin, co-founder of Locos Deli & Pub. "It is a fun way to raise money, get employees involved with the community and give to a meaningful cause that is making a difference here."

Participants can make a donation of any dollar amount; companies and other organizations are encouraged to make a group donation of either $125 or $250. Non-golfer tickets are also available the day of the event for $20, and children are admitted free.
