New Commercials At University Of Alabama And Locations Across Tuscaloosa

CRIMSON TIDE KRYSTAL LOVERS WHO LOVE KRYSTAL PUPS, THE LITTLE HOT DOGS WITH THE BIG TASTE, WILL BE STARS OF THE NEW TV SPOTS

TUSCALOOSA (Tuesday, February 28, 2006) - The Krystal Company, the fast food icon famous for its signature big taste menu items craved by a cult-like following all across the South, is coming to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa from Wednesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 9 to shoot a new series of reality-based commercials for its signature line of Krystal Pups menu items, including the Original Krystal Pup, the Chili Cheese Pup, the Chili Pup and the Corn Pup.

Over the two day period, Krystal representatives and production crews will scout out unique localities and search for Crimson Tide Krystal Lovers who not only have a passion for Krystal Pups, the little hot dogs famous for their big taste, but are comfortable hamming it up in front of the camera without a script.

The purely "copy free" television commercials, scheduled to begin airing in May 2006, will feature students having fun as they chat with a special interactive video prompter about the one-of-a-kind small hot dogs that can either be served up plain, like the Original Krystal Pup, topped with famous Pup Chili, as with the Chili Pup and Chili Cheese Pup, or battered with sweet cornbread and deep-fried on a stick for the popular Corn Pup.

Look Into the Prompter and Say "Krystal"
Just like Krystal's big taste menu items that are often consumed in multiples, Krystal is looking for friends to show up in multiples to set locations on the campus of the Univ. of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. At the designated locations, selected people will be treated to Krystal Pups before appearing in front of the "Krystal Lover Prompter," a revolutionary, two-way video prompter that doubles as a camera used to film the commercials. With the Krystal Lover Prompter, people interact live with a "man in a box" about themselves, Krystal and the food they grew up loving. This man in a box is likewise looking into a two-way video prompter from a remote location, and the effect is that the participants completely forget they are looking directly into a camera and are filming a commercial. Inhibitions are completely put aside, and the conversation and responses are real and are the kind that could only happen without a script.

The Famous Krystal Pup, a cult-following all of its own.
