Knights Names New Vice President Of Marketing

(Tuesday, November 23, 1999) - Knights Franchise Systems, Inc. today announced the appointment of Marilyn McHugh, CHA, to Vice President of Marketing for the 235-property chain. McHugh will report directly to Knights Inn President and CEO Bruce V. Bloom.

In her new position, McHugh will spearhead Knights Inns marketing and promotional activities and explore alliances and opportunities designed to drive business to the brand. She will also be responsible for the advancement of our consumer loyalty clubs and advertising programs and will lead the chains aggressive marketing thrust to heighten brand awareness.

Marilyn brings a great deal of marketing expertise and a strong hospitality background to Knights, said Bloom. Her broad range of experience in sales and marketing will make a major contribution to the future growth and success of the brand.

Marilyn has over 24 years of management expertise in the hospitality industry, with direct experience in sales and marketing, as well as the creation and implementation of marketing and training programs. Marilyn began her career at Cendant in 1992 as a Regional Marketing Manager for Howard Johnson, and most recently served as the brands Corporate Director of Regional Marketing and Training. Prior to joining Cendant, Marilyn held positions with several hospitality brands, including Hilton, Sheraton and La Quinta hotels.

With her experience and creativity, Marilyn also brings a strong background in property level marketing to this brand, which will add significant value for our franchisees, added Bloom. She is a tremendous addition to our team.
