Koa Giving Away 30,000 Free Campsites On May 13

(Tuesday, March 01, 2005) - Kampgrounds of America will again be offering campers across North America an absolutely FREE night of camping on Friday, May 13 during the second annual KOA Come Camp With Us Day.

More than 350 participating KOA Campgrounds in the United States and Canada are offering more than 30,000 FREE tent and RV sites and Kamping Kabins on this special day.

"We had a great time last year sharing the joy of camping with more than 10,000 families," said KOA President and CEO Jim Rogers. "We can't wait to do it again. It's a great chance for new campers to see what this great camping lifestyle is all about, and it's also an opportunity for experienced campers to break out their RVs and camping equipment and get the 2005 camping season off to a great start!"

Many participating KOA's will be offering special events during the May 13-14 weekend, including fun ice cream socials sponsored by Dreyers and Edys Ice Cream.

There will also be opportunities for campers to give free-will donations to KOA Care Camps for children with cancer. The 34 camps are located throughout the U.S. and give children with cancer the chance to experience a genuine summer camping experience while continuing their medical treatments. Last year, more than $28,000 was raised during Come Camp With Us Day to benefit Care Camps.
