A survey of more than 1,000 single people found:
Martha Stewart, Saddam Hussein and Dr. Phil are the worst costumes to wear to meet other singles
French maid and Cat Woman costumes are the best for single women to meet single men
Capt. Jack Sparrow and Batman are the best for single men to meet single women

Halloween spending
Halloween ranks sixth in annual holiday spending, still behind the winter holidays, Easter, and Valentine's, Mother's and Father's days.
52.5 percent of consumers will celebrate Halloween this year.
The average person will spend $48.48 on merchandise, up from $43.57 last year.
The biggest jump in spending will come from consumers age 18-24. They're expected to spend $50.75 on Halloween merchandise this year, up 30 percent from $38.90 last year.
Consumers 25-34 plan to spend the most on Halloween merchandise of any age group -- a total of $62.46, up 13 percent from $54.80 in 2004.
