Isold It Receives $7.25 Million In Venture Capital Growth Funding

Former Chairman of Mail Boxes Etc. Michael Dooling Joins iSold It Board

(Monday, December 19, 2005) - iSold It, the world's largest chain of eBay drop-off stores, today announced it has received $7.25 million in venture capital funding from a group of investors led by Jacaranda Partners. The funding will be used to introduce iSold It to millions of new customers and to accelerate its expansion into new e-commerce services such as reverse logistics programs. The company also announced that Michael Dooling, managing director of Jacaranda Partners and former chairman of Mail Boxes Etc., has joined iSold It's Board of Directors. Mr. Dooling began his tenure as chairman of Mail Boxes Etc. when the company had less than 100 stores, and remained at the helm until it was acquired in 1997. Today, most Mail Boxes Etc. stores operate under The UPS Store banner. "We believe iSold It is poised for tremendous growth in the rapidly expanding e-commerce category," says Dooling. "In less than two years, iSold It has already become the number one seller on eBay with over $30 million in gross sales volume this year. With additional investment in marketing and infrastructure, we believe we can approach $100 million in 2006." "I know from working directly with Mike that he was instrumental in helping to create the retail pack and ship category. Mike helped Mail Boxes Etc. grow to more than 3,000 stores worldwide and ultimately took the company public," says Ken Sully, CEO of iSold It. "We are on a similar path at iSold It and welcome Mike's experience to our management team." With its nationwide footprint of stores, iSold It is uniquely positioned to help provide a physical bridge between the local community and the Internet. Still in its infancy, the chain has already helped over 100,000 customers launch over 500,000 auctions on the eBay platform. About iSold It iSold It offers its franchisees a turn-key program that makes it easy to open an iSold It drop-off store in their local community. The company hosts a proprietary software system that allows independent stores to easily interface with e-commerce sites, manage their inventory, create management reports and efficiently pay customers through a bulk-rate check payment system. In addition, iSold It helps franchisees secure store locations, orders and installs their turn-key "store-in-a-box" build-out, provides training and support, and leads overall national and local marketing efforts. The concept for iSold It was created by Elise Wetzel as she was helping to fundraise for a new playground at her children's school. Elise recognized that auctioning donated items on eBay could be a powerful fundraising tool, especially if there were a service that helped make it easy. From this small idea for a school benefit came the foundation for iSold It -- providing an easy way for any person, business or organization to sell things online. Today, iSold It is ranked by Entrepreneur magazine as the number one franchise in the emerging drop-off store category. iSold It currently has more than 160 franchise stores open nationwide.
