Hawthorn Suites Reaches Out To Duluth Community With 'First Night Free' Emergency Housing

DULUTH (Tuesday, February 28, 2006) - The Hawthorn Suites at Waterfront Plaza, located at 325 Lake Ave. South in Duluth's Historic Canal Park District, is offering a "First Night Free" emergency housing program for those forced to leave their homes due to fire, water, hail damage, gas leaks and other natural misfortunes.

Hawthorn Suites Duluth has provided The City of Duluth Fire Department with complimentary coupons for one-night stays at the hotel for firefighters to give to members of the community who need a temporary housing at a difficult time. "It makes sense that they be the ones to use our complimentary stay coupons at their discretion so displaced families can have a comfortable temporary home-away-from-home from which to plan their next steps."
