Dog Day Care and Spa to Open in Howard County

CLARKSVILLE, MD (Monday, August 22, 2005) - Happy to be Here, Inc., the franchise company of Happy Tails Dog Spa™, today signed a franchise agreement in Maryland with a couple who plans to open their own dog daycare center this winter in Howard County.

Ron and Sue Dietrich of Clarksville, MD have eagerly been exploring different opportunities to open their own business. Sue Dietrich, a former pet-sitter, said Happy Tails Dog Spa's commitment to quality care made it the ideal business for her and her husband, noting she looks forward to spending her days with dogs.

"Ron and I have been planning for this day for many years and we are excited that Happy Tails Dog Spa™ offered us this wonderful opportunity, " said Sue Dietrich. "We recognize there is a growing need for pet care nationwide. As dog owners, we understand the need of this market and look forward to serving others locally with personalized service."

Nichols, a native of Maryland, said it is a pleasure to have signed another franchise in her home state. She is especially pleased the Dietrich's share a passion for pet care and would eventually like to own more franchises in Howard County.

The next step in the process is to find the right location in Howard County for the dog spa. Officials with Happy to be Here, Inc. will work with the couple to find a spot and to negotiate a lease. It is expected the dog daycare center will open in the winter.

Sue will oversee the day-to-day operations of the center. Ron plans to manage the franchise part-time as he continues his career with Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. The couple is proud to note they have an 11-year-old son, Eric, a three-year-old daughter, Samantha, and three dogs.
