Gold's Gym International Announces Corporate Move To Dallas, Tx
Company Will Consolidate Administrative Operations in Venice, CA, Falls Church, VA and Austin, TX to Form One Centralized Location
VENICE, CA (Monday, August 15, 2005) -
Gold's Gym International, the world's largest co-ed gym chain, announced today that it is relocating its administrative operations to Dallas, TX. The company, which has 625 gyms in 43 states and 26 countries, will merge its Venice, CA, Falls Church, VA and Austin, TX offices into one administrative headquarters. The company's international headquarters will remain in Venice, CA.
"This move will help us accommodate the explosive growth we've seen over the past few years," said Gene LaMott, president and CEO of Gold's Gym International. "During this time, we've brought the brightest minds in the industry on board to support our operations both domestically and overseas. Our new Dallas office will centralize this talent under one roof."
Founded in Venice, CA in 1965, Gold's Gym has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years. Since 1999, the company has grown from 400 franchise locations and one company owned gym to 586 franchised locations and 40 company owned stores.
To support this growth and keep the company at the forefront of the fitness industry, Gold's Gym has invested heavily in resources and personnel. The company added new divisions such as training and development and bolstered existing departments such as franchising, marketing and product licensing. Gold's Gym International now employs more than 2,400 people.
"We have been investing in human resources to help improve the member experience, increase the visibility of the brand and provide hands-on support to our franchisees around the world," stated LaMott. "Because of the increased size and sophistication of our operations, we have outgrown our current space."
The move will also bring Gold's Gym closer to its parent company, TRT Holdings, which recently acquired the company in 2004. TRT Holdings, which owns and operates the prestigious Omni Hotel brand, has pledged its resources and support to grow the company and improve member experience around the world.
"We're thrilled to bring one of the most recognized brands in the world to Dallas," said Robert B. Rowling, CEO of TRT Holdings Inc. "We want to make Gold's Gym the only name people think about when they think about fitness."
The new 24,000 sq ft. headquarters will be located at 125 East John Carpenter Hwy in Irving, TX. It will house 107 employees and serve as the administrative headquarters for several departments including franchising, product licensing, training and development, operations, finance, sales and information technology.
In addition to bringing its administrative offices to Dallas, the company will look to add multiple gyms throughout the Dallas area.
"Since TRT and now our Gold's Gym Administrative offices will be in Dallas we want to provide the people there the best fitness experience possible," said LaMott. "We will explore opportunities to increase our presence in Dallas and open locations that reflect what the Gold's Gym brand is all about."
