Ewfi Member Chosen To Break The Million Dollar Barrier

Congratulations to Kim Hefner

DALLAS (Friday, April 01, 2005) - We are so proud to tell you that Dr. Kim Hefner, a four year member of EWF International, is one of the first three women in the country chosen to receive the Make Mine a $Million award. Did you know that while women own over 10,000,000 businesses in the United States, only 283,000 (3%) of them have gross revenues of $1,000,000 or more annually?

The Make Mine a $Million Business program is a national effort to award 15 of the nation's most promising women business owners with financial loans and business coaching. This new mentoring and financing program is sponsored by Count-Me-In for Women's Economic Independence; OPEN: The Small Business Network from American Express and the Women's Leadership Exchange.

Kim, an optometrist and owner of Omni Eye Center in Oklahoma City, is the State Chair of InfantSEE, a new program being launched this summer by the American Optometric Association.

As soon as we learned of the Make Mine a $Million" program, we encouraged all our forum members who met the elibiblity requirements to accept the challenge to grow their businesses to the milestone of $1 million in gross revenues. Kim was ready for the challenge, and believed the visibililty created would help her expand the InfantSEE program, enabling her to help more children. Kim plans to use the loan to purchase the equipment necessary to test and treat infants and children.

Several of Kim's fellow forum members traveled with Darcie and I to the conference and award ceremony in Dallas, where we were joined by Dallas franchise owner, Kerri Lusk-Barnes and members of the EWFI forum in Dallas. We hope we didn't embarrass her with our cheers when she was announced as a winner!
