East Of Chicago Pizza Company Introduces Turkey Peppercorn Sub

WILLARD, OHIO... (Tuesday, August 19, 2003) - After years of trial and error in the East of Chicago Pizza Company test kitchens, the hunt for the perfect turkey sub sandwich is finally over. At selected locations now, East of Chicago's exclusive new heart healthy Turkey Peppercorn Sub is ready to win over diners who prefer lighter fare.

East of Chicago customers have long demanded a low fat sub sandwich. Scott Granneman, one of East of Chicago's founders, began looking for a delicious, low fat sub sandwich years ago, but until now, none of the possibilities measured up to the chain's high standards.

The breakthrough came when Cooper Farms' honey smoked turkey breast was combined with fresh ground peppercorn, a recipe developed expressly for East of Chicago. "Now we're able to round out our menu for our customers who want a heart-healthy alternative," said East of Chicago Vice President of Marketing, Dennis Stevenson.

The sandwich piles the delectable turkey with lettuce and tomato and is served with mustard on the side. Very low in fat, the Turkey Peppercorn sub is available at participating East of Chicago franchise restaurants in the 6 and 12-inch sizes.
