Duke Sandwich Company Announces Georgia Development Agreement

GREENVILLE, S.C. / STATESBORO G.A (Thursday, April 06, 2006) - Duke Sandwich Franchising Inc. has awarded a large development agreement for the state of Georgia. The new agreement will entitle the franchisee to develop Duke Sandwich locations in all counties in the state of Georgia excluding the seven Atlanta counties. William Ledford, native of Vidalia GA, is the new owner. He has partnered with Troy Reddick and Paul Mead of Lyons, GA. In addition to his experience in the newspaper business, Mr. Ledford comes from a marketing background of more than 20 years. Mr. Reddick has an extensive background in commercial real estate and Mr. Mead is owner and operator of a Dairy Queen Franchise.

"The Duke Sandwich Concept is a unique, simple, wholesome, economical idea," said Mr. Ledford. "We are very excited to be the first to bring it to Georgia."

The first Georgia store is scheduled to open in the first half of April. The store will be located in Statesboro Georgia, 840 D Buckhead Plaza. The restaurant will offer a wide selection of Duke Sandwiches' signature sandwiches including Deviled Egg, Pimento Cheese, and Minced Barbeque as well as a variety of delicious soups, salads, and desserts.

The Greenville, SC based company was founded in 1917 by Eugenia Duke. Now owned by the Smart family, Duke Sandwich has three company-owned stores and opened four independently owned franchise locations within the last year.

Duke Sandwich Company has been franchising since 2004. Since the development of Duke Sandwich Franchising, Inc. virtually all territories in Upstate South Carolina have been awarded. In addition to South Carolina and Georgia, the franchise division is offering franchises in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida.
