Ductbusters® Iaq Industry Honors Tom Yacobellis For Public Service

AUSTIN, TEXAS (Monday, April 26, 1999) - The indoor air quality (IAQ) industry honored Tom Yacobellis with the coveted Public Service Award at last week's Indoor Environment '99 Conference & Exposition in Austin, Texas. Yacobellis was the top nominee among hundreds of IAQ professionals.

"Tom's contributions have provided this industry with invaluable services, which, in turn, have increased public awareness for indoor environmental concerns," said Susan Valenti, Associate Publisher of Indoor Environment Review, who presented the Public Service Award.

Yacobellis is President of the DUCTBUSTERS® network of air conditioning and furnace cleaning franchises. His public service contributions include almost a decade of work on behalf of the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), for whom he has served as an officer and active member of the Certification Committee, Standards Council, and Marketing Committee.

"Tom has really earned his reputation as being the ‘go-to guy' for development of standards and guidelines in the IAQ, HVAC system hygiene, and air conditioning industries," remarked Valenti. Most recently Yacobellis was elected to the Board of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA), where he also serves as Certification Committee chairman. He is frequently recruited as a volunteer speaker at industry conferences.

According to Valenti, the Public Service Award makes Yacobellis, "the only two-time award winner in our 5-year history. He was IAQ Contractor of the Year in 1996."
