Cottman Transmission Takes Texas

(Monday, October 08, 2001) - Sixteen Cottman Transmission Centers have opened in the Lone Star State since March of this year, with twelve of those openings coming in August and September. On September fourth alone, five Cottman Transmission Centers in the state opened their doors to the public. "The State of Texas has long been an important component of our company's strength and success," states Todd P. Leff, President and CEO of Cottman Transmissions LLC. "Even prior to this year, there were already eighteen Cottman Centers located throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston and San Antonio markets. I think the fact that we have been able to virtually double the number of Cottman Centers in Texas over the past few months is a testament to the reputation and stature enjoyed by Cottman as well as to the quality of service we provide to the public." The first Cottman Transmission Center opened in 1962 on Cottman Avenue in Philadelphia, PA. There are now 312 Cottman Transmission Centers located in 39 states, Canada and Venezuela. System-wide sales for fiscal year 2001 are projected to be in excess of 135 million dollars. Additionally, Cottman and its franchiees now employ nearly 2,000 employees nationwide. The company's national headquarters are located in Fort Washington, PA.
