Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associates Bring Back Highly Successful Leisure Sales Process Training
Re-Introduction Unveiled at 2005 National Meeting; Training Begins in October
ANAHEIM, CA (Thursday, September 15, 2005) -
Today, the Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associate Division announced the re-introduction of their Leisure Sales Process training program. In the past, this program was successfully proven to boost individual agents' sales of preferred suppliers and their ability to effectively close sales. This exciting news was unveiled during today's general session of the 2005 Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associates' National Meeting in Anaheim, CA.
The Leisure Sales Process program was developed in 1995 for Carlson Wagonlit Travel owners and managers. The 2005 version of the program has been updated to include Internet and extranet applications; due to the prolific use, and importance, of both. The Web conferences for training will begin in October.
"The original training program consisted of 22 detailed staff meetings that the owners and managers used to train their own staff on the leisure sales process," said Roger E. Block, CTC, executive vice president of Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associates. "With the introduction of the Internet and extranet functions, we can streamline training and do not have to physically be in the same location for the training sessions."
In 1995, after 991 Carlson Wagonlit Travel experts completed the program, the rate of sales that were closed successfully increased from 46% to 61%. Also, agents were collecting customer profiles on their clients 43% of the time, instead of 21% of the time before the training. Sales of preferred vendors also increased after the training.
"If you get management behind the program, the results are amazing," said senior manager of meetings and training, Gloria Stock Mickelson, CTC. "The training can be completed in about three months if our owners and managers meet once a week." Owners and managers will then meet once or twice a week with their staffs for their own in-house training.
