Candy Bouquet Awards Scholarships To Local College Students

(Friday, July 12, 2002) - Candy Bouquet International, Inc. recently announced the recipients for the Sweet Success Scholarship for the upcoming Fall 2002 semester. Margaret McEntire, founder and president of Candy Bouquet International, established the Sweet Success Scholarship Program, which pays full tuition for the Candy Bouquet employees that are college students and have met the requirements. The requirements include maintaining a B average, taking 12 hours of classes, and working 30 hours per week.

Jeff Risner who has been the Operations Manager for the CBI Distribution Center for 5 years, has been awarded five continual semester scholarships. Jason Risner, Credit and Collections Manager, has been employed at Candy Bouquet for 2 years and will be receiving his 3rd semester scholarship. Both employees attend University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

The Candy Bouquet International Sweet Success Scholarship has proven to be extremely successful since its start in 1997. Candy Bouquet has funded 30 total semesters for students in the last 4 years and assisted 10 students in obtaining a quality education from local universities and colleges. Candy Bouquet has contributed a total of $45,853 through the scholarship program.

The scholarship recipients range in majors from law to dental hygiene. These students are working hard in the classroom and in the office. They are on the road to success with a little help from Candy Bouquet.

Margaret McEntire started Candy Bouquet International, Inc. in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1989. Margaret started the company in her garage with $1,000 and a dream. Candy Bouquet has come a long way from Margaret's garage, and now, the company is giving back to the community where it got its start.
