New Restaurant, Which Fuses Casual Dining Family Concept With Sports Bar, Joins Scott Family Legacy Of I-90, Exit 27 Franchises

ERIE (Wednesday, June 08, 2005) - Boston's the Gourmet Pizza plans a grand entry in the Erie area with the opening of its first location on Tuesday, June 14, at 8071 Peach Street, next to Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort. Led by franchisee Nick Scott, Sr., of Scott Enterprises, and family business partners, including sons Nick Scott, Jr. and Chris N. Scott, the Erie location joins other Scott Enterprise businesses along Exit 27 off of I-90, including Safari Grille, Applebee's, Quaker Steak and Lube, Damon's Grill, Residence Inn by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, Econo Lodge, Days Inn, Motel 6, The Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center, and Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort.

Fusing a family friendly casual dining restaurant with a sports bar, Boston's offers a complete menu with more than 25 gourmet pizzas and 13 gourmet pastas, abundant lunch specials, gourmet salads and sports bar favorites, such as chicken wings and ribs.

Scott Enterprises hired 150 employees for the 300-seat Erie restaurant, which reflects a California contemporary dinner house theme with soft yet bold colors, stone accents and intimate seating throughout the family friendly restaurant and adjacent sports bar area.

"Boston's has a lively, upbeat atmosphere, more than 100 signature menu items, one of the largest children's menu in town and excellent service," says Nick, Sr., second-generation entrepreneur and owner of the Erie Boston's. "Plus, we will continue serving our full menu until closing time, which makes our restaurant and bar a perfect location for late-night patrons. We're unique in the marketplace in that we truly offer something for everyone."

According to Nick, Sr., the Erie restaurant features several unique traits that set it apart from other local dining venues, including a full-service sports bars featuring flat-screen televisions and plasma High Definition TVs with satellite dishes to showcase sports and special events from major local colleges. The restaurant also features private party rooms that accommodate up to 150 patrons, perfect for small groups or team banquets.

"One of the most unique features of the Boston's Restaurant in Erie is that it is directly connected to Splash Lagoon and it's 270 on-site guest rooms. This provides convenient indoor access to Boston's for both hotel and water park guests. Guests never have to leave their hotel. They can walk directly from their hotel room into Boston's Restaurant," explains Nick, Sr. "With its diverse menu selection and quality food, we believe Boston's makes a great addition to the Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort Complex. To celebrate its entry into the local market, the owners will host a private grand opening party for local dignitaries and VIPs and make a charitable contribution to the Penn State-The Behrend College Athletic Fund.

A local mainstay, the Scott family now represents its third generation of entrepreneurs, which began with patriarch, Christ Scott, who migrated from Greece as a teenager. Today, Scott Enterprises owns and operates seven major hotels, eight restaurant franchises, The Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center and Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort – all located off of Interstate 90 in Erie. With the addition of Boston's, Scott Enterprises now employees more than 1,500 people in the Erie area.
