Bennigan's Hosts Nation's Largest St. Patrick's Day Celebration

(Tuesday, March 14, 2006) - What does it take to host the nation's largest St. Patrick's Day Party? For Bennigan's Grill & Tavern, the 30th time is a charm.

More than 300,000 customers will visit 270 Bennigan's Grill & Tavern restaurants across the country this weekend, and the company has spent the last few months preparing for Blarney Blast 2006. Traditionally the busiest day of the year for the chain, Bennigan's expects March 17 to be the biggest St. Patrick's Day celebration in the company's 30-year history.

Bennigan's locations across the country will celebrate with:
• Live music, Irish Celtic bands, DJs and tent parties at participating restaurants
• Drink specials and green beer
• Giveaways, contests and prizes
• Radio remotes
• A national sweepstakes for a trip to Ireland and Paris

Nationwide, Bennigan's Blarney Blast 2006 will involve:

• Over 2,000 bartenders and 13,500 staff members
• More than 300,000 customers
• Over half a million drops of green food coloring to dye the beer
• 20,000 burgers
• 35,000 appetizers
• 15,000 plates of the traditional Irish dish, Corned Beef & Cabbage
• 180,000 pints/bottles of beer, 7 times more than a normal day
• 10,000 Monte Cristo sandwiches
• More Guinness beer consumed at Bennigan's than any other day of the year
