Accor: Motel 6/studio 6 Properties Impacted By Hurricane Katrina

Employees Encouraged to Contact Accor, Funds Set Up for Evacuees

(Monday, September 05, 2005) - Accor North America currently has six properties closed as a result of Hurricane Katrina and continues to provide lodging for thousands of evacuees at its Motel 6, Studio 6 and Red Roof Inn properties. Accor is also asking all employees of the impacted hotels to please contact their General Managers or Accor at (800) 557-3435 as soon as possible. Accor is providing lodging for employees from the impacted motels and job placement at other Accor properties.

Accor Properties
As of Wednesday, August 31, six Accor properties in the area affected by Hurricane Katrina are closed and unable to accept or fulfill reservations. All guests and employees were safely evacuated from the properties. The affected locations include:

Motel 6- New Orleans, LA (#1429)
Studio 6- New Orleans, LA (#6000)
Motel 6- Slidell, LA (#0431)
Motel 6- Biloxi, MS (#1113)
Motel 6- Gulf Port, MS (#0416)
Motel 6- Kenner, LA (#4277)

These properties will remain closed for business until damages can be fully assessed. Please continue to check this Web site for updates. If you have a guaranteed reservation with the properties listed above, your reservation has been canceled without a penalty. If you would like to make a reservation at an alternate property, please check the Web site or call the Motel 6 reservation's line at 800-4-MOTEL6 (800-466-8356) or Studio 6 reservation's line at 888-897-0202.

Guests with existing reservations or plans to travel to an Accor property in the area directly impacted by Hurricane Katrina should contact the company's toll-free reservation lines to ensure that they can be accommodated. Please see the list below:

Accor Employees

We are requesting that employees from the impacted hotels please contact their General Managers or Accor at (800) 557-3435 as soon as possible. Accor is providing lodging for employees from our impacted motels and job placement at other Accor properties. Employee benefits and payroll will be extended for employees at the affected properties. Efforts are also under way to locate employees in anticipation of delivering paychecks.

A special fund has been set up to allow Accor employees to donate money to aid the Accor employees in need. Accor North America has pledged $25,000 to kick off this humanitarian aid for Accor employees.

Aid for Evacuees

As a result of so many individuals wishing to donate additional room nights for the evacuees, Accor has set up a fund at Bank of America for people who wish to help the Hurricane refugees by donating additional room nights.

The Bank of America account is called "Accor's Katrina Victim Relief" account #3756676277.

Checks will also be accepted at the Accor North America headquarters. Checks must be made payable to "Accor's Katrina Victim Relief" and can be mailed to:

Also, please consider the Red Cross, Salvation Army as options for your fundraising activities and contributions.
