A New Day Dawns As Jenny Craig Unveils A Flagship Centre In New York City

Jenny Craig, Inc. Announces Opening of Weight Management Centre in Manhattan's Bustling Upper East Side as a Symbol of the Company's New Era

(Friday, April 30, 2004) - Jenny Craig, Inc. is springing into summer with a new look, new feel and a new flagship Centre in the heart of the Big Apple. The first Centre to open in New York since 1993, the new location reflects the renewed strength and vitality of the company and is the blueprint for the redesign of Jenny Craig Centres around the world.

Company co-founder Jenny Craig and company Chairman Kent Kreh will officially unveil the new Jenny Craig weight management Centre, located at 1400 Third Ave. (between 79 th and 80 th streets) in Manhattan's Upper East Side on Monday, May 3 at 9 a.m.

As part of the grand opening festivities, visitors will sample healthy breakfast creations from Chef Cary Neff, author of "Conscious Cuisine." Kreh will be available to discuss new initiatives within the company and the importance of expansion in the New York market. Jenny Craig will offer a historical perspective of the company as she promotes her new autobiography, "The Jenny Craig Story: How One Woman Changes Millions of Lives."

"The new design of our Manhattan Centre offers a contemporary environment and an upbeat ambience for our clients. While we want our clients to lose weight, we also want to encourage them to live an active, healthy lifestyle, reach their goals and improve their overall wellness."

Jenny Craig plans to incorporate elements of the new design in each of its 650 Centres throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Puerto Rico and Guam. To date, approximately 140 Centres across the United States have already incorporated new design components and reflect the fresh new look and re-energized feel of Jenny Craig.

The new Manhattan Centre features a modern color scheme and includes amenities such as an expanded waiting room, personal computers for client use and branded transparent window treatments. The special "Jenny Your Way" customized home delivery service, offered only in New York City, will be available through the new Manhattan Centre as well as the current two New York City Centres.

Projected to open in mid-June is a new 2,000-square-foot location at 237 West 72 nd St., one block from Broadway. The third New York Centre is located at 476 Third Ave. and the company has plans to develop additional New York Centres in the future.

Jenny Craig also has commitments for at least four additional Centres to be opened by existing franchisees in Des Moines, Iowa; Iowa City, Iowa; Oklahoma City, Okla. and Edmonton, Alberta.
