Two Men And A Truck On Nbc's Today Show

LANSING, MICH. (Wednesday, May 04, 2005) - Mary Ellen Sheets and Melanie Bergeron will be featured on the award-winning Today Show for their business savvy and leadership.The segment will air the morning of Mother's Day.

The mother-daughter duo run the only franchised moving company in the country – TWO MEN AND A TRUCKÒ. Sheets, chief executive officer, founded the company in the 1980s and brought her daughter, Bergeron, into the company in the 1990s. Bergeron is now president and chief operating officer.


Chief Financial Correspondent Anne Thompson, visited home office May 4 to interview the pair and shadow their days. The NBC news team visited the Lansing franchise and went on a local move. They also spent time with Sheets' sons Brig and Jon Sorber – the original two men.


"We are just proof that the American dream can come true,'' Sheets said. "We are all so blessed. I hope our success and focus can inspire other families.''


Bergeron credits her families' success to staying focused on the customer and keeping the lines of communication open.


"For us, it all boils down to exceeding our customer's expectations,'' she said. "As long as we always keep that in mind, I am confident we will continue to grow.''


TWO MEN AND A TRUCKÒ started in 1985 as an after school business for two brothers. In less than 20 years, the company has expanded to more than 150 locations in 26 states. There are more than 1,000 TWO MEN AND A TRUCKÒ trucks on the road today. Services include home moves, business moves, packing and unpacking.
