Ellen And Quiznos Reach Out To New Orleans And Offer A Quiznos Restaurant

BURBANK, CALIF., (Thursday, January 26, 2006) - "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" is working with Quiznos to give viewers a chance to own a Quiznos restaurant. Not only can viewers from across the country have a chance to own a Quiznos restaurant, but specifically, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and Quiznos have decided to reach out to the hurricane-stricken City of New Orleans and offer one more restaurant for those in that area who were affected by Hurricane Katrina.

"I'm from New Orleans and New Orleans needs so much help. . . Since that is my hometown, anything we can do to create more business and some enterprise will help," said talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Quiznos CEO Rick Schaden added, "We are honored to be working with Ellen to bring renewed hope to a family and help them rebuild their dreams. There's really no one else in the country who can touch the lives of so many people with her wonderful gift of laughter even during the most difficult times."

Viewers have the chance to own a Quiznos restaurant by logging on to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" website at www.ellentv.com. Viewers should tell Ellen why they think they should have their very own Quiznos. Viewers need to enter by 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1st.

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" raised close to ten million dollars for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund in fall 2005. In addition, Ellen's Toys for Tots Drive this past December raised close to one million dollars in toys and donations for the thousands of children displaced from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Quiznos was one of the first companies to get trucks filled with provisions, including breads, meats and cheeses, into Jefferson Parish. In addition, the Quiznos leadership team traveled to the Gulfport region and prepared and delivered sandwiches to thousands of people impacted by Katrina. Quiznos closed their corporate office for one day, so that all employees could hit the streets of Denver to collect money on behalf of the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. In Dallas, Quiznos fed more than a thousand evacuees at Reunion Arena. Thousands of franchise owners and restaurant team members across the country conducted fundraising efforts, raising thousands of dollars for those facing the challenge of rebuilding their lives following the most devastating destruction caused by Mother Nature.
