Alameda Firm Helps Loved Ones Connect

ALAMEDA (Wednesday, December 14, 2005) - A local Internet services company is making it possible for military families to send more than just their love (and tube socks) this Christmas to loved ones overseas.
WSI Internet Consulting and Education — a local franchise that provides Webcasting, video e-mail and other Internet services to corporate customers — will extend the technology to local military families and to families displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

WSI will set up a camera at Immanuel Lutheran Church church where families are invited to come record up to a four-minute video for their loved ones far away. WSI will e-mail the video messages to the addresses families provide.
The company has worked with the local office of the American Red Cross, the Navy League and the Navy Marine Reserve Center to identify local families who would be eligible to use the free service.

Filming takes place from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1910 Santa Clara Ave., Alameda. Call WSI at 749-0482 for more information.
