Buffalo Wing Franchise Looking To Expand In Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE (Tuesday, February 28, 2006) - The Texas-based Wingstop Restaurants Inc. held an open house at its Albuquerque restaurant location earlier this month in an effort to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs and developers who are looking to build single or multi-unit franchises.

Wingstop has 265 locations in 25 states across the country, with one location in Albuquerque and a second in Las Cruces.

"We feel like it will be a great market for us," says Andy Howard, an executive vice president with Wingstop, adding that the "quick-casual" restaurant chain is interested in adding an additional 10 franchises throughout New Mexico.

While Wingstop would not disclose how many groups expressed an interest over the two day period, Wes Jablonski, the executive vice president of business development, says the turnout exceeded their expectations. Jablonski estimates that 75 percent of the people who came to their event would be considered qualified candidates.
