1. Coolers
Because so many family reunions are held outdoors at popular picnic locations like state parks or beaches, some families are getting insulated bags printed up with the family name and reunion date. It's a memorable keepsake that you can use throughout the summer.
"I've seen some families come up with a creative logo that they want to have printed onto things like cups and mugs too," Kats adds.

2. Tote bags
One of the most popular ideas to hit family reunions in a while - and company picnics - is a tote bag. These canvas bags can be embroidered or printed with your family name, and it helps you keep everything together throughout the day.
"Those are a huge hit with moms," Kats says.

3. Baseball caps
Baseball caps have also been increasing in popularity each year. Families are choosing to identify their groups with something that everyone can wear and be identified - especially when reunions are held at public places, Kats explains.

4. Stationary
According to Kats, many families are getting more and more creative each year. In order to keep the family in touch and promote more family communication throughout the year, some are getting pens and small note pads printed up with the family name.
"It's a nice idea because it encourages the families to get their second cousin's phone number and address - or email address. Since not all families put together a directory or a newsletter, this is a nice way to get more families talking - or writing," Kats adds.

5. Banners and signs
If you aren't prepared to be able to offer everyone something personalized for the reunion, it's a good idea to get a sign printed up. Besides letting the whole gang know where the party's at, it's also a memento to raffle off to some lucky family to keep.
