(Friday, November 08, 2002) -
Baja Fresh will celebrate the grand opening of their 200th restaurant location in Calabasas on Tuesday, November 12 with the inauguration of their "200 Schools for 200 Restaurants" fundraising campaign.
Following November 12th, schools across the country in Baja Fresh markets will be invited to participate by partnering up with their local Baja Fresh. Throughout the school year, local restaurant managers throughout all 17 states occupied by Baja Fresh restaurants, will be contacting schools for fundraising opportunities in which a full 15% of sales will be directed to needed educational supplies, equipment or programs. A. E. Wright Middle School in the Las Virgenes School District will launch the "200 Schools For 200 Restaurants" program. Money raised from A.E. Wright's fundraiser will be used to purchase lab equipment and supplies for their growing science department.
"We understand that our customers are part of the community and we want to support them as they have supported us. Education is a priority in our nation and on a local basis, through our fundraising abilities, we can make a difference. We are proud to have Jay Mohr as our honorary chairman to kick of 200 Schools for 200 Restaurants'," states Greg Dollarhyde, CEO of Baja Fresh.
