Seasoned Business Owners Open Dippin’ Dots Store In Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA (Thursday, September 22, 2005) - In 2004 Scott Plyler opened his first Dippin’ Dots store with business partner Steven French. One year and three locations later, Scott is forging another Dippin’ Dots partnership, this time with his father, Henry.

Scott and Henry Plyler will celebrate the opening of their Volusia Mall Dippin’ Dots location on Friday, Sept. 23. Activates will include free ice cream sampling and giveaways, including free Dippin’ Dots for a year. In addition, all who attend will receive a buy one get one free discount.

When it comes to business savvy, it seems Scott learned from the best.

“I opened my first pizza and sandwich shop in Brookville, Pa. in 1960 at age 20 with a $2500 loan from my father,” Henry Plyler said.

Henry later built a new restaurant in Brookville that offered home cooked meals and fresh baked cakes and pies. Scott now own and operates the restaurant after 27 years in business.

Henry became interested in Dippin’ Dots after Scott Plyler and French successfully opened three locations in Pennsylvania. After months of researching and planning, Henry opened a location of his own. “We love it,” Plyler said about his new business endeavor.

In January, Dippin’ Dots Franchising, Inc. ranked number one on Franchise Times Magazine’s Fast 55 annual listing. The list names Dippin’ Dots Franchising, Inc. as the fastest growing young franchise in the nation.

Dippin’ Dots are tiny, cryogenically frozen beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavored ice.
