Wing Zone Sponsors Atlantas First Ever Chicken Wing Festival
Fast-Growing Atlanta-Based Takeout & Delivery Chain Eyes Peoples Choice Award
ATLANTA (Tuesday, March 01, 2005) -
Wing Zone, one of the nations fastest-growing takeout & delivery chains best noted for its award-winning 25 flavors of fresh, cooked-to-order Buffalo chicken wings, announced today it will play a lead role as a primary sponsor and participant in the first ever Atlanta Wings Festival, taking place April 16-17 on Auburn Avenue.
Wing Zone will be serving up its full array of 25 signature flavors of Buffalo wings at the debut event, including Garlic-Parmesan, which recently won the Most Creative Sauce Award at the National Buffalo Wing Festival, in Buffalo, NY. At the Atlanta Festival, Wing Zone will compete for the citys first ever Peoples Choice wing award.
With our home-base in Atlanta and Wing Zone locations popping up around the nation, it was important for us to support this historical local event as a key sponsor and to share our beloved wings and sauces with our home town constituency, said Stan Friedman, Executive Vice President and a partner in the Wing Zone Franchise Corp. Its the perfect way to celebrate our success, by embracing the community that has supported our product and business for so many years.
With more than 70 locations operating nationwide and 35 more in development, interest in the Wing Zone franchise concept has significantly heated up, particularly since it received coverage on the Prime Time Food Network program Roker on the Road and won back-to-back awards at the National Buffalo Wing Festival in 2003 and 2004. In fact, in 2005 alone, Wing Zone has awarded franchises to eight new individuals, including the signing of its 100th store, which, appropriately, will open in the Atlanta market this August. It will be Atlantas third Wing Zone location, with yet another scheduled to open later this summer in Kennesaw.
Friedman and many members of the corporate team will join Wing Zone franchise owners Jeff Morris, Marie Chaffin, Byron Spencer and Noble Benefield (franchisee for Wing Zone store No.100) at the festival, where they will all focus on satisfying the appetites of wing lovers of all ages, with Wing Zones infamous fresh chicken wings and sauces in 25 delectable flavors.
