Villa Pizza Opens Flagship Location In Times Square

40TH Anniversary Celebration Brings Company Back to New York City

NEW YORK (Monday, August 30, 2004) - Villa Pizza, one of the nations fastest growing pizza concepts, has opened their flagship location in Times Square on the corner of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue on August 28, 2004.

Michele Scotto, Founder and Chairman of the Board opened his first pizzeria in 1964 on Broadway next to the Ed Sullivan Theatre (now host to The Late Show with David Letterman). On our 40th Anniversary, we are coming home! Together with our prime location, digital menu boards, and animated life size mascot, Salvatore Stromboli, continuously walking across the front of the store, we will be hard to miss, says Adam Torine, Vice President of Business Development for Villa Enterprises.

At our Times Square location, we will serve 3 varieties of pizza, made with our "homemade from scratch" dough recipe. Pastas, hot entrees, stromboli, hot sandwiches, salads and deserts round out our extensive menu. In addition, we will have an extensive grab and go section with salads, wraps, fruit, etc. for the on-the-run crowd. We will also feature fresh brewed coffee, espresso, and cappuccino under our Casa Java brand name.

In the past five years, Villa Enterprises has more than doubled in size. Villa Enterprises now has a total of 300 stores in 38 states and four countries with about 50 percent being company owned. Villa is slated to open another 40 locations in the next 18 months. We also look forward to developing more stores in New York City,” says Anthony Scotto, Executive Vice President for Villa Pizza.

In addition to Villa and Cozzoli’s Pizza, Villa Enterprises operates Casa Java and the Everything Yogurt Brands, which include Greenleaf’s Grille, Treat Street, Everything Yogurt & Salad Café, and South Philly Steaks & Fries.
