LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY (Friday, April 12, 2002) -
Robert Long, Kevin Leen and Jay Welbourn, (L-R) of Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC), presented a check for $60,000 to the Michigan Metro Girl Scout Council and the Girl Scouts of Huron Valley for the purchase of 20,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to be given away during VIOC's Customer Appreciation Month in March.
The VIOC Girl Scout Cookie Giveaway, which kicked off on March 11th, took place at all 25 Detroit-area VIOC locations and raised funds for special trips, camp programs and other initiatives for local economically challenged troops. Members of the troop were also on-hand Saturday, March 16, to assist VIOC in handing out the cookies to hungry oil-change customers.
