Rainbow International® Of San Diego County Prepares For Restoration Work From California Wildfires

WACO, TX (Tuesday, October 28, 2003) - His phones lines are down, the streets are still blocked against the cleanup effort, and the California wildfires continue to rage. But that has not stopped Jeffery Shults, owner of Rainbow International® Restoration and Cleaning for San Diego County, who has spent recent days walking area neighborhoods on foot and delivering emergency relief literature to residents and victims of the area fires.

Shults estimates that 100-150 homes in his territory will require full-service for heavy fire and smoke damage, and another 200 homes will need partial services from Rainbow. He called it the worst wildfire devastation he had ever seen.

Approximately 900 homes in Southern California have been destroyed by the smoke and flames, and Governor Gray Davis has called out the National Guard to help with the recovery. The governor estimates the damages to be in the billions of dollars.

Shults is preparing for the emergency calls in his area by ordering air scrubbers, deodorizing equipment and products, and cases of soot sponges in order to remove the smoke residue and odor from his customers’ homes. Rainbow International of San Diego County will have six trucks equipped and ready to go as soon as roadways are opened.

“The sooner we can get to the damaged areas, the safer we can make homes for their families,” Shults said.
