Owens Corning Enhances Raft-r-mate(r) Attic Rafter Vents

Two-in-One Product Helps Prevent Unwanted Heat Loss in Attics, Increases the Life of the Roof and Saves Builders and Installers Time and Money

ORLANDO, FLA (Wednesday, January 11, 2006) - Leading building materials
manufacturer Owens Corning today announced an enhanced version of its attic
rafter vent, RAFT-R-MATE(R), which allows air to flow from soffit vents to the
attic. The improved vent is a two-in-one product that is perforated in the
fabrication process to provide builders and installers with an optional air
stop/insulation block feature. The perforation creates a panel that can simply
be flipped down during installation to:

-- Remove the need to install a second product and prevents insulation
from covering eave or soffit vents -- restricting air flow.
-- Prevent "wind wash" from blowing through attic vents and pushing
insulation away from the perimeters of the house, resulting in heat
loss.
