Obee’s 'Slices' Deal For 28 Locations In Southern Indiana And Northern Kentucky

JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA (Tuesday, January 14, 2003) - Winning the hearts of sub lovers across the nation by serving meals “the way everybody’s grandma used to make them,” Florida-based Obee’s Soup, Salad & Subs has cut a deal with a local entrepreneur to open 28 stores in Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky within the next five years.
The first Obee’s location in this region, owned by Obee’s area developers Ron and Dee Dee Zellner, is set to open this January at 1725 East 10th Street, Jeffersonville, Ind.

As the area developers for Obee’s, the Zellner’s have exclusive rights to develop 28 stores regionally, including locations in Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY and Evansville, Ind. The Zellner’s see great growth potential for Obee’s in Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky, with plans to open more than 40 locations throughout the area.

Obee’s menu offers 16 unique combination subs that are made from the highest quality meats, cheeses and condiments available. Fresh vegetables for the subs are sliced daily; real Italian bread is baked daily Fresh meals are served in a warm and friendly atmosphere that sets Obee’s apart from other sub concepts. In addition, Obee’s is the only sub chain to deliver to local businesses, including corporations/businesses, professional offices (doctors, lawyers), hospitals and industrial parks.

Fresh (never frozen) meats include 98 percent fat-free products such as sliced turkey breast, baked dinner ham and choice roast beef, as well as Genoa salami and spicy Italian capicola, topped with provolone cheese and served with a choice of fresh vegetables, real mayonnaise, mustard, olive oil and red wine vinaigrette.
