Mrs. Fields And 'Days Of Our Lives' Pair For Amateur Chef Contest
SALT LAKE CITY (Tuesday, March 12, 2002) -
Mrs. Fields Cookies and "Days of our Lives" have joined hands to expand Mrs. Fields annual "Winning is Sweet" amateur chef contest to include a chance to win a walk-on role on NBC's #1 rated daytime drama. Beginning March 15th, entry forms for the baking contest can be found in 450 of Mrs. Fields stores nationwide or online at www.mrsfields.com. The winning recipe will make its debut in stores October 2002. The winner will also receive a $1000 cash prize for the winning recipe. The promotion, titled, "Winning is Sweet ... .So Are the Days of our Lives," will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A percentage of sales and an extra 5% of specific product sales from the cookie company's catalogue division, www.mrsfields.com, will be donated to the charity during Leukemia Awareness Month in September, 2002. "Although this is the second year we have offered this contest," said Frann Wolfe, SVP, Marketing, Mrs. Fields Famous Brands, "this is the first time we have ever developed it with a high-profile partner, like 'Days of our Lives.' Their viewers and our customers are one in the same; this partnership couldn't have better hit our demographic."

Last year, the winner of the Winning is Sweet contest was Kim Blasko of Oxnard, California, whose recipe became the Mrs. Fields Peanut Butter Parfait.
