Mr. Electric Awards Master License For Australia

WACO, TEXAS (Wednesday, May 08, 2002) - Mr. Electric®, the world's largest electrical service and repair franchise, has awarded a master license for franchising the Mr. Electric brand in Australia. The purchase of the master license by one of the largest electric companies in Australia represents one of the biggest investors to begin franchising the Mr. Electric brand.
The first Mr. Electric franchise has already opened in Melbourne and will service three franchise areas covering 800,000 people. The financial and management strength by the master licensee will also support a large expansion plan, said Tom Buckley, president of Mr. Electric.

"The outlook is extremely strong for Mr. Electric to grow in Australia as it has in other countries," Buckley said. "And the brand translates well internationally as it does in the United States."

The master license plans to support many franchise locations to serve the country. With a growing population and an economy that has shown strong customer loyalty to several international franchise brands, Australia will soon see the Mr. Electric name on its streets.

Mr. Electric was recently named the top franchise in the appliance and electrical services industry by Entrepreneur magazine.
