Mr. Electric Awards Master License For Portugal

WACO, TEXAS (Thursday, August 22, 2002) - Mr. Electric®, the world's largest electrical service and repair franchise, has awarded Grupo Brodheim a master license for franchising the Mr. Electric brand in Portugal. Ronald Brodheim, chairman and president of Grupo Brodheim, and Cristina Matos, general manager, are participating in new owner training in the United States and plan to open the first Mr. Electric franchise outside of Lisbon.
“Portugal is a great market for Mr. Electric’s international expansion,” said Rick Cross, president of Mr. Electric. “We expect great things from the introduction of the brand and services to the country.”

The master license plans to open a corporate franchise to service the major points in Portugal and sub-franchise the more rural areas in the near future. The country has a population of more than 10 million people, and more than 68 percent of them are between the ages of 15 and 64. According to Cross, it is the perfect audience of homeowners and business owners who need Mr. Electric’s services.

Mr. Electric was recently named the top franchise in the appliance and electrical services industry by Entrepreneur magazine.
