Huge Menu Featuring Huge Portions

MYRTLE BEACH (Friday, December 16, 2005) - The deli has a huge menu featuring equally huge portions of dressed baked potatoes, salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts.
The entree potatoes are among the more unique elements of the chain, which consist of huge "Texas-sized" potatoes topped with chili, chef salad toppings (sans the lettuce), roast beef and gravy, and more.
Many of the signature sandwiches McAlister's features are slightly off-the-beaten path options. It's rare to see Muffaletta (a New Orleans classic known for its tapenade-like olive mixture) on most deli menus, whether they're locally-owned or franchised.
The price | Drinks included, about $8 is all you'll need. It sounds pricey, but you'll have a very filling meal for the money.
To drink | Aside from usual nonalcoholic options, McAlister's has sweet tea to die for and fresh-squeezed lemonade that's nothing to smirk at, either.
The vibe | Its quirky collection of memorabilia and forest green color scheme seems like a finely manicured attempt to mimic a relaxed neighborhood hangout. Hours | 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 10:30 am.-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
