Mcalister's Deli Sees Record-setting Year

RIDGELAND (Wednesday, January 04, 2006) - A growing network of successful franchisees combined with the popularity of McAlister's Deli, along with an acquisition by Roark Capital Group in July, helped lead the 185-store chain to record-setting numbers in 2005, the company reported earlier this week.
In 2005, McAlister's opened 34 franchised restaurants with system-wide sales reaching a record high of $205 million, an increase of 27% over 2004.

"We have a great group of franchisees who continue to grow and develop high-volume restaurants," said Patrick Walls, chief development officer for McAlister's Corp. "Each year they continue to raise the bar even higher in terms of sales and operations."

The company anticipates opening 50 new restaurants in 2006, and entering four new states — Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and New Mexico.
